Wish I understood sound/music

Well the game works ok though I struggled with the jam theme link.

What I need to fix:

Stop the obstacles spawning on top or right next to the player
Improve the balance of difficulty when going up a level maybe increase the floor space when going up a level
Improve the music/sound

I really wish I understood music & sound better, in TIC-80  it looks like it should be possible to create great tracks/sounds but I am really clueless and can't find any tutorials that make it clear I guess I need some music theory first. People say just mess about and see what works, I tried that but just got frustrated. I will try and reverse engineer some carts on the website to try and understand it.
